Each year, a competitive cohort of 20+ undergraduate and graduate students are selected to represent California's next generation of leaders. Interns are placed to work part-time, in-person in the office of an elected official at our great state's capitol in Sacramento. While in office, our interns support our CA API Advocacy Coalition, 150+ organizations across the state!

This is a 10 week program with an elected official, with an additional 4 week program of close mentorship, professional workshops, networking, and leadership and advocacy training by API Advocates. The cohort also serves as the youth committee for the CA API Advocacy Day. Interns also receive a letter of recommendation from our Executive Director, resume and interview polishing, career mapping, and a stipend up to $2,500, based on financial need.

Applicants must be 18+ years of age; in-progress of obtaining a Bachelor's Degree or have already obtained a Bachelor's degree.
